Hello, hello. So I just finished filming that last video, and I confirmed that the home on the water was the Cali plan. This home here is the Justin plan — and the third option, the Denton plan, is the one you don’t want.
This Justin plan is a little further along in construction, so you can actually see tile, countertops, and finishes. That makes it easier to visualize the final product. It has the same general layout as the Cali plan, but with some differences — especially in the back portion of the home. This one is also a four-bedroom.
Let’s walk through it.
Here’s the kitchen. You can see the tile backsplash and the light granite countertops. DR Horton tends to use these lighter tones throughout. The counters are large — that’s consistent with a lot of their plans. Fridge spot here, pantry next to it, and the backsplash wraps across the kitchen, which looks really good.
If you remember from the last house, the dining room and living room were positioned differently. In this plan, the dining area is here, and the living room sits just off to the other side. Similar concept but flipped. You could put a long table here easily. Still getting those big windows and that open feel.
Out back, you’ll have neighbors behind you and the usual drainage ditch. Since this one is not a water-view lot, you can do a regular wooden privacy fence — no black railing required like the water lots. The back patio is a little bigger on this plan, which is a nice feature.
Now into the primary bedroom. This room is noticeably larger than in the Cali plan. They clearly shifted more square footage into the bedroom and took some from the closet. Still a good-size closet, just not as large as the Cali’s. Same double-sink granite countertop setup you saw earlier, same style tile in the shower, same soaking tub. Toilet closet here.
Going back through:
The front of the home is basically identical to the Cali plan. No closet in the hall here. Laundry room is in the same location. Here’s one of the guest bedrooms — standard-sized closet.
Garage is here, slight slope on the driveway but nothing too extreme. Some builders ignore the slope entirely and you can’t even get a car up the drive — we’ve seen that before — but this one is fine.
Another guest bedroom here, with the same countertop setup as the other bathrooms: one sink, extended counter space. This room feels a little more closed off, likely because of this sharper turn in the hallway, but it’s still functional. Guest bedroom closets are standard.
So overall, the Justin plan gives you a chance to see finishes and features you couldn’t see in the Cali plan yet. It’s also nice to compare the layouts. This is the Justin floor plan; the other was the Cali. DR Horton spaces these plans out well so you’re not living next door to the exact same house, like you sometimes see in those more repetitive Rash Coleman neighborhoods.
All of these homes are expected to be finished by the end of the year. If you’re interested in this plan specifically, or any of the others, let us know. We can get it moving. The only water-view option is the Cali plan over there.
That’s it — Cory, Clear Property Management.
